Resumo.
RESUMO: O presente artigo tem por objetivo reverenciar os 25 anos da fotetnografia e é dividido em duas partes. A primeira apresenta a trajetória histórica da antropologia visual no Brasil, desde as gravuras produzidas a partir das narrativas dos cronistas do século XVI ao conceito da fotoetnografia, concebido por Achutti. A segunda parte trará uma narrativa fotoetnográfica, realizada em 2013, sobre o trabalho dos que nomeamos “homens da lama”, que são os catadores de caranguejo da Ilha Grande, no Delta do Parnaíba Piauiense.

ABSTRACT: This article aims to honor the 25 years of photetnography and is divided into two parts. The first presents the historical trajectory of visual anthropology in Brazil, from the engravings produced from the narratives of the 16th century chroniclers to the concept of photoetnography, conceived by Achutti. The second part will bring a photoethnographic narrative, carried out in 2013, about the work of those we call “men of the mud”, who are the crab scavengers of Ilha Grande, in the Delta of Parnaiba, Piaui, Brazil.
