Abstract. The photo essay is an excerpt from a documentary project in development which addresses "pilgrims", such as "pilgrimages" and "ex-votos" practiced by devotion to São Francisco de Canindé, in the municipality of Canindé, located 110 km away from the city of Fortaleza, capital of the state of Ceará (CE), located in the Northeast Region of Brazil. The photographs were captured during the feast in honor of the saint, which takes place annually between September 24th and October 4th. However, in 2016, especially because of the changes, the party was extended to after the election. It is an initiative linked to the ECOMSUL Research Group - Epistemologies and Emerging and Transforming Practices in Communication, Media and Culture, of the Department of Social Communication and Postgraduate Program in Media Studies / UFRN.
