Abstract. This paper presents the contexts about the professional life of Luiz Beltrão and the social-politics moment of Brasil. As advisor from Fundação Nacional do Índio and journalism researcher, Beltrão wants to understand what is the public image of the indian between the brasilians. He has as very great material to research and concludes that the people has no idea about the true situation of the indians, suffering very strongs pressions from the white people. I resume that unhappily this book is yet very important because current, specially whith the new national gouvernment.
