Resumo. The environment is constantly impacted, characterized as negative and positive, being negative, all human actions that degrade the environment and positive, actions that contribute to the preservation and conservation of this environment. The purpose of this research is to describe positive and negative environmental impacts, providing an explanation of their differences and examples of impacts. The methodology uses a bibliographic research, collecting data through scientific articles, laws, website and environmental archives. The results present a strategy for contributing to positive impacts, using education as the best way to prepare and demonstrate to the population the importance of environmental conservation. Therefore, environmental education is a means of providing greater participation by the population in the environmental issues-problems they face, this education raises awareness and demonstrates how the school, public administration and community can work as a team regarding the environment.
