Resumo. The article analyzes the television coverage of Catholic Pentecostalism - Catholic Charismatic Renewal (RCC) - in the 1990s, based on Globo TV's national television coverage of the movement in that period. The research seeks to understand the impacts of this coverage on the visibility and expansion of the movement in Brazil. To do this, he performs field research conducted through the application of questionnaires in prayer groups, in the city of São Luís MA). It was noticed that in the region where the research was applied, journalistic articles did not have the weight to make people look for the prayer groups, but other practices besides the media, characterized in this work as folkcomunicacionales, being the main one: the testimony Of people, anonymous to the media and lay people to the church.
